from a law firm's ad in the program book
Money changes hands, the fix is in,
this is how they see themselves,
pitch men for the world's richest industry,
rabid for profit and in on the grab––
stand aside, rural citizen,
there's a fortune under your feet,
and they mean to have it, by god;
surrender your soul
or suffer the consequences,
the cautious be damned,
property rights be damned,
self-government be damned––
out of the way or be crushed
by a torrent of money––
sing along, you newly-rich:
water, water, everywhere,
and not a drop to drink,
follow the suits to perdition.
